Another event has happened this week to really make me think on what is happening in our country.
That chap killing himself, his 3 children and eventually his wife.
I just can’t conceive what could be going though that guy’s head to do such a thing. The despair and desperation of such an act is just mind-numbing.
Firstly There is no possible way I condone these action in anyway whatsoever, they are the actions of someone who is very ill.
In saying that this sort of violence is on the rise and seems to be always when finances are stretched and not just with the impoverished.
No one seems to be paying attention!
An AVO is no good if it’s ignored.
Where should the police step in on such matters. And what sort of back up is available for men who fall off the perch, when their marriages break down….even though they are the cause of most cases.
This is, as much as anything a mental health issue.
We had a massive close down of mental facilities under Howard and a lot of these people are falling through the cracks because no one seems to care. Just another action by a heartless and uncaring Government and that includes all sitting members, any side of the equation.
As always it falls to us in the community to watch out for our friends and family.
If you see someone who is not coping try and reach out and together we might go some way to reduce and illuminate this madness. My heart goes out to the remaining family.
